A league table of child wellbeing in Europe has some shocking results for the United Kingdom. The data used is from 2006 - and suggests that, of all the 27 European countries (plus Norway and Iceland), the Netherlands is the best place for children to grow up, Malta is the worst, and the UK comes 24th.
The research was undertaken by a British University and used a number of different indicators around health, risk, education, relationships, housing and material resources.
