The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. 8-year old divorces her husband
A divorce has now been granted to the girl - but there has been an outcry as to how she came to be married in the first place. Both she and her mother were unaware of the marriage - arranged to settle a debt owed by her father to a close friend. When the mother found out, she tried to have the marriage annulled - but failed to do so because of legal technicalities. After a number of appeals, an intervention by the Justic Minister and UNICEF, the marriage has been overturned and the girl has now been granted her divorce. |

The human rights of a young Saudi Arabian girl have been violated, claims UNICEF, by forcing her to marry a 47-year old man.
