Search the siteAn Heroic MinistryIntroducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:
Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day. At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children. Morocco Girl-band success
Tigress Flow are a female rap group - a receptionist, air hostess and criminal lawyer - about to record their first album, shoot a video and, hopefully, launch a foreign tour. They formed in 2005 and have played a few festival. Since then, they have had two hits: 'Maghribiyya' ('Moroccan Woman') and 'Kifach?' ('How?'). Islamist politicians have said that pop concerts encourage immoral behaviour, promiscuity and drinking - but Tigresse Flow do not advocate any such behaviour in their lyrics. Instead, they are more concerned to address the evils of violence and poverty - as well as advocate for women's rights. Tigress Flow rap in Darija - but they are planning to record 'Mama Africa' in a mix of Darija, Spanish, French and English. |
