An Heroic Ministry
Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

10 CommandmentsBishop Roger Sainsbury, President of the National Youth Agency in the United Kingdom, has come up with 10 new Commandments for youth ministry:

  1. Listen to the voices of young people
  2. Have a special concern for the socially excluded and disadvantaged
  3. Work co-operatively with other agencies, particularly schools
  4. Give spiritual development a priority
  5. Demonstrate tough love
  6. Offer emotional and spiritual security
  7. Organise activities that help young people feel valued and significant
  8. Challenge the demonisation of young people
  9. Help build community cohesion by youth work that educates young people to value our common humanity and shared citizenship, not sectarian hate
  10. Be active politically to secure long term funding for youth work from local and national giovernment
