The Victorian State Government is encouraging young people to shre their views on the current laws about body piercing and tatoos. The proposed changes would include:
- the banning of 'non-intimate' piercings for under 16-year olds without parental consent
- the banning of 'intimate' piercings for young people under the age of 18
- changing the definition of tattooing to be more specific
- increasing the fine for tattooing under 18s from $550 to $6,600
