An Heroic Ministry
Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

Hillsong comes to Cape Town

Previous | Next

South Africa flagMore than 3,000 people attended the first Hillsong church services in Cape Town on 15 June. Over 200 people decided for Christ throughout the 5 services held that day.

A live video link was created between the Cape Town and Sydney congregations. Founding pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston encouraged the church as congregants from both continents waved and cheered enthusiastically. At the end of the services in Sydney the live video link was activated once again for Sydney congregants to “eaves drop” on Phil Dooley’s salvation altar call in Cape Town. “Many in our crowd were crying as it was such a moving and historic moment” says pastor Brian Houston.

A short Bible message from Philippians 3:12-14 was given.

More than 150 children registered for the kids' program.
