An Heroic Ministry
Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

"Ban pornography", say Australian Bishops

Previous | Next

Australia flagIn a pastoral letter, accompanied by a YouTube video, Australian Bishops have claimed that pornography is one of the most evil uses of the Internet. They are urging the government to ban pornography access on the Net.

The pastoral letter claims that "the relative anonymity of the Internet and its private nature means that there is a real danger of pornographic addiction...All of these images are humiliating and degrading, most often towards women."

The letter cites recent research about the damage pornography does to relationships. Counselors are increasingly seeing clients who claim pornography as a major cause of marital breakdown.

The Bishops say that, "addiction to Internet pornography is no less damaging to single people or to those dedicated to living a life of celibacy."

They also encourage parents to discuss the dangers of pornography with their children.
