Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

Previous | Next

Zimbabwe flagProsper Munatsi, general secretary of the Student Christian Movement of Zimbabwe has called for peace monitors to intervene amidst escalating violence in the country. “We need peace monitors that make sure we have a stable environment to stop this violence and madness that [President Robert] Mugabe is orchestrating,” he said during a recent interview in Geneva.

Munatsi claimed that the Zimbabwean people have exhausted all democratic and peaceful channels to make the changes and that now a war is being waged against innocent and defenseless people. He was speaking in Geneva whilst there to brief the World Student Christian Federation, of which the SCMZ is a part.
