An Heroic Ministry
Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

Truancy rates hit a record low

Previous | Next

Union flagThere is less truancy amongst British school-children now than at any time previously recorded. The rate is now at 3.6% in Secondary Schools, down from 7.87% in 2006/07.

The figures are not quite so good in primary schools, however. Infact there is a small increase - 5.26% from 5.18% - over the same period.

Whilst the Government see the figures as a sign that their policies are working, the Opposition Parties claim that they are failing primary school children.
