An Heroic Ministry
Introducing Pastor Steven from Rwanda:

Pastor Steven

Pastor Steven Turikunkiko has set up a community in Rwanda for victims of the genocide. 160 widows & teenagers & 80 younger children live with him; farming, sharing their lives and caring for those dying from AIDS. The community subsists on less than $1 per person per day.

At enormous personal sacrifice, Pastor Steven and his wife have also adopted 20 orphans - who live with them and their 2 other children.

Cambodia flagYoung people in Cambodia do not know about the horros of the past - but that is set to change. Until now, school curriculum has hardly mentioned the Khmer Rouge regime, which killed at least 2 million people between 1975 and 1979.

However, that curriculum is about to be changed by the Ministry of Education. A new textbook is being introduced, entitled 'A History of Democratic Kampuchea (1975-1979)'. It contains photographs and personal testimonies as well as key facts from the history timeline.

3,000 teachers will be trained in the new curriculum for its launch in October.
