Cambodia educate on terror history
Young people in Cambodia do not know about the horros of the past - but that is set to change. Until now, school curriculum has hardly mentioned the Khmer Rouge regime, which killed at least 2 million people between 1975 and 1979.
However, that curriculum is about to be changed by the Ministry of Education. A new textbook is being introduced, entitled 'A History of Democratic Kampuchea (1975-1979)'. It contains photographs and personal testimonies as well as key facts from the history timeline.
3,000 teachers will be trained in the new curriculum for its launch in October.
